Devils Claw is an African plant containing harpagoside and other antiinflammatory and analgesic constituents. Concentrated Devil‘s Claw extracts have improved pain control in patients with back disorders, similar to the effects of modern pain-relieving drugs. Reduced muscle stiffness and improved spinal mobility have also been demostrated after treatments with Devil‘s Claw extracts. Vitamins B1, B6 and B12 appear to enhance the effectiveness of antiinflammatory agents in back pain and shorten the time required for pain relief therapy. Vitamin C had been reported to be of benefit to patients with disc-related low back pain.
