Natural unesterified Vitamin E

Vitamin E is the primary lipid-soluble antioxidant found in the body. Vitamin E supplementation may elevate the protective, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in some individuals, and reduce the susceptibility of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol to oxidation. Some experimentatal and clinical evidence suggests that non-esterified vitamin E is utilized more efficiently by the body, maintaining high blood levels of vitamin E for longer periods than esterified forms. Vitamin E and other antioxidant micronutrients help maintain immunocompetence, especially in populations at risk such as the elderly. Vitamin E supplementation has a favorable influence on insulin sensitivity in healthy subjects, Type II diabetics and the elderly.
